As the 2023-2024 financial year of the major football leagues dawns, many eyes are already on the green fields. Prime Video, Canal +, RMC Sport or even beIN SPORTS compete – like every year – for the broadcast of the biggest European competitions. Summary.

Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Premier League, Champions League… From the beginning of August, the round ball is back in vogue in the small skylight. As is often the case, television rights to football are distributed somewhat obscurely. A clarification therefore becomes necessary to understand on which channels – or on which platforms – this or that match is broadcast. Like last year, Amazon and its Prime Video platform broadcast 80% of Ligue 1 matches, leaving 20% of the rights to its competitor Canal +. Two subscriptions (14.99 euros/month for Prime Video “Pass Ligue 1” and 25.99 euros for the encrypted channel) are therefore essential to follow the entire championship. New this season: the operator Free has recovered the rights to extracts from Ligue 1 matches and it will broadcast them almost live. To follow Ligue 2, a Prime Video subscription (80%) is also essential. The beIN SPORTS broadcaster, for its part, broadcasts the two best matches of each day of the French second league. The L’Équipe channel will offer, throughout the season, the unencrypted transmission of one meeting per week (Saturday at 7.00pm). France 3 and beIN SPORTS will share the Coupe de France broadcast.

The Saudi League now broadcast on Canal +
The interest of the French in football knows no bounds. Great foreign or international competitions they are also widely followed by many viewers in France. For this new year, the transmission of the Champions League has been entrusted to Canal+ and RMC Sport (for the two most beautiful posters) and to beIN SPORTS (for all the other matches). The final of the competition will be broadcast free-to-air on TF1. The rights to the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League have been shared between RMC Sport (both competitions), Canal+ and W9 (best poster). So while Canal + got the exclusive Premier League broadcast (English league), beIN SPORTS broadcasts the main matches of three other major European leagues (Spanish Liga, Italian Serie A and German Bundesliga). For the first time, the Apple TV platform has launched the “MLS Season Pass”, a 13.99 euro per month subscription that allows you to follow the entire MLS (US Championship). Another great television revolution : Canal+ recently signed an agreement to broadcast the League of Saudi Arabia. The opportunity for French viewers to follow the performances of football stars such as Neymar, N’Golo Kanté, Karim Benzema or Cristiano Ronaldo.
