Fact: The date for Apple’s next “Wonderlust” keynote is set for September 12 at 7pm French time, according to Bloomberg’s trade journalist Mark Gurman. But what should we expect? As usual, the Cupertino company will take advantage of the event to present a series of innovations including the iPhone 15, which is arousing many expectations. Separately, Apple is also expected to begin rolling out its major iOS 17 update, which was unveiled at WWDC and is currently in public beta. Let’s take stock before kick-off.

iPhone 15: 4 models unveiled?

In all likelihood, four versions of the iPhone 15 should be presented during the keynote – which according to Bloomberg could be marketed as early as September 22nd -: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (which could, on this occasion renamed “Ultra”, ed.). Two screen sizes will be offered: 6.1 inches (iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro) and 6.7 inches (iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max).

All 4 models could benefit from a 48 megapixel lens, a 12 megapixel periscope lens and potentially a USB-C port. Finally, the selling price could be revised upwards, in particular due to the inflationary environment. But no information on this matter has been provided at this stage. Recall that the price of the iPhone 14 at the time of its release was set at 1,019 euros.

iOS 17: update deployment?

Still in public beta, the iOS 17 version should probably be released after Apple’s keynote. Introduced in June during WWDC, in conjunction with the presentation of the Vision Pro headphones, iOS 17 will benefit from a number of new features, including:

  • A diary application,
  • Transcription of voice messages in real time,
  • A crop function to create stickers,
  • An option to easily share contact details,
  • A new way to view when iPhone is on its side or charging.

Other expected products: Airpods with USB-C port and Apple Watch Series 9

Apple may also announce a new range of Airpods, featuring a USB-C port, during the back-to-school event. “In parallel with the iPhone 15’s switch from the Lightning port to the USB-C port, Apple plans to make the same change to the AirPods Pro charging case” understands Mark Gurman, Bloomberg journalist who deals with the news of the Californian company.

Finally, it is plausible that the Apple Watch Series 9 could be unveiled on this occasion. However, the changes to the smartwatch should be minor. “The 2023 models, expected next month, will benefit from a slight update”, confirms Mark Gurman. And this is easily explained, according to the journalist: “Apple is planning a Watch X model to celebrate the device’s 10th anniversary”, he warns. As for the new features, MacRumours media suggest that the Apple Watch Series 9 could be equipped with the Apple 15 Bionic in particular, which equips the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, which would significantly improve the performance and battery life.
