The event, sponsored by Quiero for another year, will take place on October 23rd and 24th and will bring together 30 international and national speakers who will share their experiences to promote positive social and environmental impacts of organisations.
This edition is based on the academic collaboration of IESE, the institutional support of Madrid City Council and ICEX, the strategic collaboration of CEOE and the sponsorship of Brambles-Chep, Braskem, Grupo Bimbo, Plasticbank and South Pole.
Quiero, an international platform that deals with the business, sustainability and brand equation, will promote a new edition of Sustainable Brands Madrid, the international reference meeting in Europe in terms of sustainable development, which since 2015 analyzes and shares the most outstanding experiences the companies and organizations that integrate sustainability into their business models.
Under the motto “From brands with a purpose to brands with an impact”, the 8th edition of Sustainable Brands Madrid will take place on October 23rd and 24th at the headquarters of IESE Madrid, which will again be a research associate of the meeting. Aspects such as the characteristics of impact brands will be analyzed over two days, how one can move from sustainability management to impact management, how they can contribute to curbing “greenwashing” or how purpose and effect are related.
“The role of brands and organizations has changed in the face of the urgency of climate change and social inequalities. Society, investors and governments are now demanding greater commitment from companies to meet the challenges we face as humanity. And they have the opportunity to contribute. “Sustainability management is the search for positive impact and combines innovation and regenerative economy to demonstrate its contribution to improving people’s lives and the environment,” explains Sandra Pina, General Director of Quiero and SBMadrid.
The guide from brands with a purpose to brands with an impact, which Quiero presented last spring, aims to support companies that want to manage this change and will form the backbone of the Sustainable Brands Madrid programme. This document analyzes the six traits that define an Impact brand: 1) Putting Impact at the heart of the business; 2) have an active, clear, and tangible purpose; 3) take a systemic approach to addressing the challenges; 4) promote a regenerative vision of activity; 5) promote coherence both at the level of strategy and economic resources and of the assigned team; 6) and measure and report on the impact achieved.
“Impact brands are emerging in response to the eco-social crisis, to an increasingly conscious citizenship and the evolution of financial markets towards ESG issues (Environmental, Social and Governance) to contribute to the realization of the 2030 Agenda. Impact investing is becoming more and more important.” Awareness, and from Quiero and SB Madrid we want to accompany companies in this transit,” explains Pina.
