The new round of Block Editor updates are live on WordPress.com. A powerful duotone image editor, a persistent list view to change your page or post and an update to choose the colors of your tables: these are the new features that will allow you to create and improve the look of your website. Built-in duotone image filter

A long-awaited new feature is the Duotone filter, which allows you to choose two colors for the shadows and highlights in an image. Imagine black and white photos but in the color combination of your choice. What was once standalone image editing software is now available to you in Block Editor.

Apply a consistent color palette to all images on your website, or grab your audience’s attention with an eye-catching color scheme for an important article.

To try it out, add an image or banner block, choose “Apply Duotone Filter” from the block’s floating menu, and experiment with the color schemes.

Navigating the editor in persistent list mode

Enhance your editing experience by selecting List View from the top menu bar. This view shows the full block structure of your page or post. This is basically a summary of all blocks used. The list view is now persistent, meaning it stays expanded in the sidebar while editing.

This update will greatly improve navigation through complex content and editing of nested blocks.

And there is a bonus! Anchor links added to blocks are also displayed in this list view for easy identification.

Customize the colors of your tables

Background and text colors can be easily edited in the table block for greater consistency across your website.
