/Meta Verified: a paid certification badge on Instagram and Facebook
Now it’s official: the certification of a Facebook and Instagram account is tied to signing up for a monthly subscription called Meta Verified. The paid formula announced by Mark Zuckerberg in February is now available “Worldwide Deployment Course”. It is available for some users in France who were notified by a notification in their account.
Inspired by the example of competitor Twitter, which has been heavily criticized since its release, Meta Verified is aimed at creators and enables this “to establish its presence on Instagram and Facebook”. Understand: Prove to your community that your identity has not been usurped on the platform. “Our verification process requires government-issued ID and, whenever possible, a video selfie to ensure the authenticity of your account is assured.”, explains Meta on the overview page. Certified accounts have a badge that identifies them.
Meta Verified offers other benefits beyond the verification badge:
- Improved security protection and “Proactive Identity Monitoring”,
- Access to the support service in French to solve problems with the account,
- Exclusive stickers for reels and stories.
